Fourth of July is always a mini family reunion, usually most
of Steve’s family joins us in Ithaca and this year was no different. The kids
had fun with their cousins, the weather was beautiful and we even squeezed in a
wedding shower for our nephew Victor and his bride-to-be Veronica.

We have a “washers” tournament every 4
th of
July.
In an attempt not to stack teams we have tried different strategies for team selection. This year
however was pure random draw and the “Dream Team” of Mike and Rick randomly
happened.
They are consistently two of
the best players and although they did have one surprising loss they held on to
go all the way. Just as they told everyone they would, over and over and over
again! The tournament keeps everyone having fun and interacting with each
other. It really is a highlight of the weekend. We even have a trophy!

AJ also passed a rite of passage at the lake. It was his turn to climb the ladder up a side of the huge tree in front of Grandma's house to trim the little branches that had begun to grow.

The wedding shower was also great fun, we all enjoyed celebrating the soon to be newlyweds. We
are all looking forward to their wedding
in New Orleans!
