Laber Berg

Dominic and I joined the MIS Hiking group today. It was a beautiful day for a hike in the mountains. Dominic was a good sport joining all the parents.

I chose to do a medium level hike with my friend Vanessa while Dominic chose the tough hike with some hard core hikers. He did beat us up the mountain since his path was shorter, we were happy with our choice and the views along the way were beautiful. This is another spot with a bahn where you can just ride up and down or just one way. Lots of options for views no matter what your fitness level!

One Night Only!

AJ, Dominic, Steve, Missy, Stefanie & Rachel
After a whirlwind week consisting of his 25th class reunion at Cornell, a week of work in Delaware and then a weekend at LeMans, Steve arrived back home today! Just in time to say goodbye to AJ who leaves for his summer job in the US tomorrow!

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and had dinner with all four kids in a great biergarten overlooking the mountains! We love when the six of us can be together! Until the next time!

Fun with FOUR kids!

Rachel, AJ, Stefanie & Dominic on their way to school!
It has been a fun week! Dominic got back to Germany on Monday morning and it has been great having all four kids in the house together. The only disappointment is that Steve is in the US working!

This past Thursday the boys volunteered at school for middle school sports day so the four of them got on the bus together and off to school they went - just like the old days!

Not super warm but a pretty day!
Friday, AJ and I had our last golf lesson (we have gotten to enjoy AJ here in Germany for a month) and we took Dominic with us. He opted to read in the sun while we played, golf is not his thing, and then we had lunch afterwards.

Star Wars Identities

Since both boys are home we decided to explore the Star Wars Identities exhibit at the Olympiahalle in Munich. What a fun morning for us. The exhibit is interactive, you have a listening device in your ear as well as a bracelet that you wear, both work with the exhibits.

Oh Han...
Do or do not, there is no try.
When you get close to certain displays you automatically hear the audio explanation. Along the way you learn about different influences in your life that make up your personality. Of course all explained through Star Wars characters. You then scan your bracelet at each station to add to your personality. At the end you are shown your person and they email the details of what kind of person you are. It was really interesting and fun.

When we returned home I found this photo from 2008, the last time we took the kids to a Star Wars Exhibit!

Sir Paul McCartney

FUN night!  I went to see Paul McCartney LIVE at the Olympic Stadium here in Munich with friends. Steve was at his 25th Cornell reunion and missed out, but I'm pretty sure he was having an equally good time!

It was an incredible concert and he is an awesome performer. We were mesmerized watching him and dancing and singing along. He performed for 2.5 hours straight, absolutely amazing. We had started with tickets way high up on the side but those seats were flooded so we were moved to equally high up seats but in the center.  Very cool.  It was a beautiful night to enjoy the concert.

Then about halfway through the concert our friend Wendy got a call and her friend had free seats for us down on the floor. It was fabulous to move down there and be closer to the stage. Plus the crowd on the floor really dances. Something we’ve noticed in Germany at concerts, most people just sit and watch which makes it hard to be up and dancing because you’re blocking the view for other people but it doesn’t matter when you’re on the floor!!
