Germany Beats Sweden!

Photo taken with our 360 camera and then flattened. It requires some imagination.
We had a fun night watching World Cup Soccer and cheering Germany on to a last minute win. We can only hope they keep this up! Sitting by the lake watching soccer  is a great way to spend the evening!

Salzburg Bike Tour

What a spectacular DAY in Salzburg!  The Fraulein Maria Sound of Music bike tour was a blast.  Loved biking around the city and countryside listening to the movie soundtrack.  A wonderful parent from our school organizes these group tours and we had such a fun group!

The weather was perfect, the photos almost look like backdrops it was so pretty.  Salzburg is an easy little city and really adorable.  Definitely want to go back and explore a little more and visit the Christmas markets too!

Rachel is Senior Girl ATHLETE OF THE YEAR!!!

At our school in Germany every season there is a sports night.  All the teams gather and an MVP award and a Coach's Award are given to players on each team. We have been to sixteen of eighteen of these in the last six years. We have only missed two. Unfortunately for us, tonight was one.

BUT, in a total surprise, as a junior, Rachel won the Varsity Athlete of the year award! This is a huge honor and something she has wanted to win since she saw it awarded spring season of her sixth grade year.  We are so very proud of her hard work and her commitment to her teams and her sports.

The Shaughnessys are here!!

Tom, Eileen, Missy & Steve
What a blast we had with the Shaughnessys. We always laugh so much when we are together. Eileen is one of my oldest college friends and we have so many great shared experiences and fun history.

We started their visit with a trip to the mountains. Herzogstand is a favorite place to take guests, and it did not disappoint this trip either.  Parents and kids alike loved the views and the hiking!

The next day we spent touring Munich. It was another gorgeous day and we really were able to see a lot.  After six years I feel like I have the perfect tour route!

Number 1 photo spot - Glockenspiel and Frauenkirche together

Outside of Hofbrauhaus Eileen and I were watching a group of men. I was pretty sure they were a bachelor party. Eventually the groom noticed us watching them and he wasn't shy. He came right over, made us laugh and of course took a selfie with us. it is not unusual to see a groom dressed in a dirndl and wig, generally these are groups of men visiting from England.

We ended the day with pizza and ice cream at the lake. Definitely not a bad way to spend the day!
