Granny and Grandpa Teddy are here!

My mom and dad are here! They arrived this morning from Cleveland. After a slight mix up at the airport I found them. Turns out Delta flies into Terminal 1, we have always flown into Terminal 2. It took me a little while to figure out why their flight wasn't showing up on the board. When I realized my mistake I ran!

I took them back to our house, gave them a quick tour and let them get settled for a few minutes but then to fight jet-lag we headed into Munich. We did a little touring around the city and then had lunch at the Hofbräuhaus. The band was playing and the food an bier were good. It was a good way to start their visit!

Oktoberfest Fun!

Steve and I have been enjoying Oktoberfest this year. With friends and together. It is such a fun place to visit. We highly encourage people to partake. It's fun in the tents, it's fun on the midway, it is just fun. Plus dressing up in Bavarian Trachten is great too. Prost!

Stefanie is FIFTEEN!

Today is Stefanie's fifteenth birthday. 15! She is growing up to be a lovely, caring, thoughtful and wonderful young lady.

She got to start the day with a chocolate muffin in bed and there was even a guest performer in our rendition of Happy Birthday this morning. Her friend Julia. Julia made this terrific sign for Stef and got up extra early to come to our house to hang it up for Stefanie to see when she awoke!

Awesome, right?
Stef spent her day at school and at volleyball practice. Then we had dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant, Paestum. We all love that we can walk to it! Afterwards it was chocolate silk pie playing the role of birthday cake - delicious!

Ernie Visits, Rosenheim Herbstfest and a new CAR!

Steve and Ernie
Steve's fraternity brother and our friend Ernie visited for a few days. He came to pick up his brand spanking new BMW. This is a spectacular reason to visit!

Ernie was here for a few days before he could get his car so we spent one day at the Rosenheimer Herbstfest. This festival is a warm-up for Oktoberfest. It has all of the same things: an opening day parade, beer tents. fun rides and games and good Bavarian food. Also, it gave me another opportunity to wear my dirndl! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time there with Ernie. Rachel and her friend Isabelle.

She carries all of those with ONE hand!

Prost!

The ice cream is good too!

Ernie's BMW car day was next on our agenda. BMW has a fabulous first class setup to make their buyers feel very special. Steve and Ernie first had a tour of the BMW factory and museum. Our friend Regina also joined us so she and I did some shopping while they attended the tour. We then met Ernie and Steve at BMW World lounge and had drinks and snacks while we waited for his car to be brought up. The lounge is similar to a first class airline lounge and Ernie was Mr Joynt throughout the process.

Once his car was up we walked down to the presentation deck. There Ernie had about an hour of instruction about all of the features of his car. Then we got to drive it out of BMW World and take it home. So cool.

Ernie left the next day to tour Italy, Austria and Belgium on a bier tour. Yes, bier not wine! It was wonderful having him visit and terrific that we got to be a part of his new car experience.
